Step 1: Open Microsoft Outlook #
- Launch the Microsoft Outlook app on your Android device.
- If this is your first time opening Outlook, tap Get Started.
- If you already have an account configured, tap your profile icon (top left), then tap the gear (Settings) icon.
- Select Add Account → Add Email Account.
Step 2: Enter Your Email Address #
- Type in your email address (e.g., user@yourdomain.com).
- Tap Continue.
Step 3: Choose Account Type #
- When prompted, tap IMAP (not Exchange or Google).
- If Outlook tries to auto-detect settings, choose “Advanced Setup” or “IMAP” manually.
Step 4: Enter IMAP Settings #
Fill in your server details as follows (adjust these to your domain):
Incoming Mail (IMAP) #
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 993
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) #
- Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Port: 465 or 587
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
(Tip: Use the same credentials as your incoming mail server.)
Step 5: Sign In #
- Tap Sign In.
- Outlook will test your settings — if successful, your mailbox will load.
- You may be asked to grant permissions for contacts, calendar, or notifications — tap Allow.
Step 6: Final Setup #
- Choose whether to sync contacts and calendar (optional).
- Tap Done to finish.
- You should now see your inbox syncing.
Step 7: Troubleshooting Tips #
If you see a “Can’t verify account” or “Login failed” message:
- Double-check that the server names, ports, and encryption match exactly.
- Confirm your username is your full email address.
- Make sure your password is correct and that your mailbox allows IMAP connections.
