Step 1: Sign Out of the UniFi VPN Client #
- Open the UniFi VPN Client.
- If you are signed in, click your profile or settings icon.
- Choose Sign Out.
- Close the VPN Client.
Step 2: Clear Saved Credentials (Optional but Recommended) #
Windows:
- Open Credential Manager.
- Go to Windows Credentials.
- Remove any saved credentials related to your old domain (e.g., oldcompany.ui.com).
macOS:
- Open Keychain Access.
- Search for entries containing ui.com or the old domain.
- Right-click and delete any VPN-related credentials.
Step 3: Download the Updated VPN Configuration (If Applicable) #
- Go to the updated Identity Portal: https://newcompany.ui.com
- Sign in with your UniFi Identity credentials.
- Download the latest version of the UniFi VPN Client from the Downloads section, if prompted.
- (Optional) If your admin shared a direct configuration file or provisioning link, download and open it.
Step 4: Re-Authenticate with the New Domain #
- Open the UniFi VPN Client.
- When prompted, sign in using your UniFi Identity credentials using the new domain.
- Complete the two-factor authentication prompt.
- Click Connect.
Step 5: Confirm VPN Connectivity #
- Once connected, verify that you have access to internal company systems and resources.
- If you’re unsure, try accessing internal tools or contact IT to confirm you’re on the VPN.
Troubleshooting #
- Can’t sign in? Make sure you’re using the new domain and not a saved credential or bookmark from the old one.
- VPN fails to connect? Restart your computer and try again. If issues persist, contact IT support.
